Terms of Service

OSRS Terminal tells you what looks worth flipping and keeps the record of what you actually did. You place every offer yourself, in the game.

1. Who this is between

These terms are an agreement between you and OSRS Terminal (“we”, “us”), the operator of OSRS Terminal. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Jagex Limited, the makers of Old School RuneScape. Old School RuneScape is Jagex's trademark and its game data belongs to Jagex.

2. What the service is

OSRS Terminal is an analysis and record-keeping tool for the Old School RuneScape Grand Exchange. It reads public price data, ranks items by the margin and volume they have recently shown, suggests quantities and prices, and keeps a ledger of the trades you tell it about.

Prices come from the OSRS Wiki real-time prices API, a free service run by volunteers at Weird Gloop. We do not control it, we do not guarantee it, and the numbers you see are as current and as accurate as it is.

3. What the service is not

It does not connect to the game. It does not log in to your account, it does not place, cancel, or collect offers, and it will never ask for your RuneScape password, your authenticator, or your bank PIN. Every trade it knows about is one you typed in.

This is not an oversight, and it is not a feature we are working towards. Software that plays the game for you is botting under Jagex's rules and gets accounts banned. If anything ever offers you that in our name, it is not us.

Nothing here is financial advice, and Grand Exchange prices are not a financial market. A ranking is a description of what has happened recently, not a promise about what happens next. You can and will lose gp on trades this app suggested.

4. Your account

You need an account to use the service, and you are responsible for what happens under it. Keep the password to yourself, turn on two-factor authentication, and tell us at once if you think someone else is in there.

One person, one account. Do not share logins, do not resell access, and do not create accounts to get around a limit or a suspension.

You must be old enough to agree to a contract where you live, and at least 16. If you are younger, ask a parent or guardian to hold the account.

5. Fair use

The free plan is metered and the paid plan is generous rather than unlimited. Do not:

• scrape, resell, or redistribute the rankings or the price data as a product of your own;
• automate the interface, or run it faster than a person would;
• try to reach another account's data, or to break the limits your plan sets;
• use the service to attack, overload, or degrade anything -- ours, the wiki's, or Jagex's.

We may rate-limit, suspend, or close an account that does. Where the problem is honest and fixable we will say so first.

6. Paying for it

The free plan costs nothing and needs no card. The paid plan is billed as a subscription through our payment provider, who is the seller and merchant of record for the purchase and whose own terms cover the payment itself. They handle the card, the tax, and the invoice; we never see your card number.

A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time and keep the paid features until the period you have already paid for runs out. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.

We may change the price. If we do, it takes effect at your next renewal and we will tell you before that, by email, with enough notice to cancel.

7. Your data and ours

Your trade ledger is yours. You can export it as CSV whenever you like and delete your account and everything in it from your account settings. We do not hold it hostage behind a plan, at any size, ever.

The software, the interface, the rankings, and the way they are put together are ours. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use them while your account is open, and nothing more.

8. Interruptions and endings

The service is provided as it is, with no warranty that it will be available, correct, or fit for anything in particular. It depends on a free third-party API and it will sometimes be down or wrong.

You can close your account at any time. We can close or suspend yours if you break these terms, if we are required to, or if we stop running the service -- in which case we will give reasonable notice and refund the unused part of a subscription.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost gp, lost items, lost game accounts, lost profit, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited -- in Australia, that includes the guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page always says when it last changed. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance. These terms are governed by the law of the operator's home jurisdiction, and its courts have jurisdiction.
